Robert Moses (December 18, 1888 – July 29, 1981) was the "master builder" of much of the New York metropolitan area. He continues to be praised by some because "he got things done" unlike anyone before or since, and derided by others for the destructive methods that he used, as well his auto-centric approach to urban planning.
