English: Routemaster bus RM216 (reg. VLT 216) was delivered to London Transport in February 1960. It was used in London until being withdrawn to be used as a training bus in 1981, and then from October 1981 to November 1983 as an experimental bus at Chiswick Works (CS). It then passed to the Stamford Hill Garage Social Club, before being bought for preservation in December 1989. This did not occur however, and from November 1990 until at least 1998 it was used again as an experimental vehicle, by GEC-Marconi. From November 2001 it has been owned by Memory Lane Vintage Omnibus Services, a private hire company.
