English: The de facto logo of Python for Macintosh versions 1.3 through 2.4, included in the Python source tree between 1995 and 2006. Used until the current Python logo was introduced in 2006, when icons for all platforms were revised to include it, taking effect in Python 2.5.

IDE.psd IDE.gif (preview) |
Inconclusive for the time being. PSD file layering might be suggestive of a derivative work (the complex pages/hammer assembly is a single layer, while the weight logo is a separate layer—but a single separate layer rather than reflecting the layering in PythonIcon.psd , so the layering might just be combining the two images). A related icon without the weight (but with another apparent addition) is here. File:FinkCommander.png is similar but with different pages.

idle.icns | Not a 16-ton weight icon but a Macintosh icon from the same era and listed here for completeness. Related to IDE.psd (see above), but with a version of File:Python Windows source code icon 1996–2006.png with outline removed replacing the weight. |
PackageManager.psd (preview) |
Derivative work of PackageMaker 1.x icon. |
PythonApplet.psd PythonApplet.icns (preview) |
Just the logo plus a simple geometric shape. |
PythonCompiled.psd PythonCompiled.icns (preview) |
Derivative work of GenericDocumentIcon.icns as found in OS X 10.4. |
PythonIcon.psd PythonInterpreter.icns (preview) |
Original (no elements not part of the logo itself). |
PythonSource.psd PythonSource.icns (preview) |
Derivative work; related to GenericDocumentIcon.icns as found in OS X 10.4 but seemingly indirectly (the low resolution source code in the midground is in a braced language, i.e. not Python). |
PythonWSource.psd PythonWSource.icns (preview) |
Derivative work; related to GenericDocumentIcon.icns as found in OS X 10.4 but seemingly indirectly (the low resolution source code in the midground is in a braced language, i.e. not Python). |
