Prince Valdemar of Denmark (October 27,1858--January 14,1939) was the youngest son of Christian IX of Denmark and his wife Louise of Hesse-Kassel.
He married en:Princess Marie d'Orleans on October 20, 1885. They had five children:
- HRH Prince Aage of Denmark (1887-1940), created Count of Rosenborg in 1914, married Mathilde Calvi and had a son.
- en:Prince Axel of Denmark (1888-1964), married Margaretha of Sweden in 1919 and had two sons
- en:Prince Erik of Denmark (1890-1950), married Lois Booth in Ottawa, Canada 1924, divorced 1937, and had a son and a daughter.
- Prince Viggo of Denmark (1893-1970), created Count of Rosenborg, married Eleonora Green, and had no children
- Margrethe (1895-1992), married Prince René of Bourbon-Parma. Her daughter Anne is Queen Consort of Romania.
