Postal stationery in Cuba under Spanish control consisted only of postal cards from 1878 to 1898. With the U.S. intervention from 1899 to 1902 came wrappers and stamped envelopes. The Republic was established on May 20, 1902. Accordingly, the copyright applicable to postal stationery issued before the Republic would be Spain and the U.S.
