English: Podlaskie Voivodship Office. Białystok, 3 Mickiewicza St. From 1944 to 1945 served as the seat of the NKVD. From 1945 to 1956 as seat of the WUBP. The compound was larger at that time. Execution took place on the premises. The building in the back, initially adapted for a gunsmith's shop, is indicated as their place. One of its rooms was allegedly covered with sheet metal, on which chipboard was attached, which protected against ricochets and muffled the sound of shots. In addition, a noose hung from the ceiling on a hook. This building does not exist today. It was reported that the bodies of the victims were burned in large furnaces in the local boiler room. Witnesses also claim that such bodies were also buried in the yard of the WUBP headquarters. This information was confirmed by workers participating in earthworks carried out on the property in the second half of the last century, claiming that they found human bones in the excavations. Corpses were also taken outside the facility.
