The Phase Linear 7000 Series Two was a rebadged Pioneer CT-A1 with minimum skin changes, built alongside the CT-A1. In the same 1979 Pioneer bought Phase Linear from Bob Carver; the former independent company became another label in Pioneer's inventory. The CT-A1 was built in two guises from the very start - and, despite Phase Linear's "high end name", both were priced at the same 1350 dollars. The affair did not last long, and by 1982 Pioneer sold Phase Linear to Jensen.
