English: The Peake class were the standard self-righting lifeboats operated by the Royal National Lifeboat Instituion. They were the most common lifeboats in the United Kingdom during the second half of the nineteenth century and continued to be built in small numbers until the early 1950s. Initally only power by oars and sails, they later were fitted (or built with) motors. Different lengths were built to suit the needs and crew sizes at different lifeboat stations.
