English: Palace in Buenos Aires inaugurated in September 1918. It was originally owned by Matías de Errázuriz Ortúzar (Chilean diplomatic) and his wife Josefina de Alvear (grandaughter of General Carlos María de Alvear). The residence was designed by René Sergent. During the 1920s, the palace was seat of the Chilean embassy in Argentina. After Alvear died in 1935, the Errázuriz family sold the house to the Argentine Government under the condition it was transformed into a museum, which was opened in 1937 – source: Perfil
