Paa Kwesi Nduom was in the time 2001 - 2005 Minister of Energy in the government of President John Agyekum Kufuor and from 2005 to 31st July 2007 Minister of State in charge of Public Sector Reform during the second term in office of President Kufuor.

He was member of the Ghanaian NPP (New Patriotic Party) and from there also sent to the office of ministry, however at the presidential elections 2008 was Nduom the candidate of the CPP (Convention People’s Party).
