English: The Oregon Solar Highway Demonstration Project is a 104 kilowatt (dc) ground-mounted solar array, initially made up of 594 solar panels situated at the interchange of Interstate 5 and Interstate 205 south of Portland, Oregon, which offset over one-third of the energy needed for freeway illumination at that site and began operation in December 19, 2008.[1]
