The original New Orleans Marine Hospital was the McDonoughville one, in use from 1847 to 1858. The Mid-City hospital was in use while under construction in the 1860s, but was never completed and was later demolished. The State Street location was the final one; its campus opened 1883, and the original buildings were largely demolished and replaced with current building that opened in 1933.
