Nelson Street is part of the New Town of Edinburgh, one of the best examples of town planning and Georgian architecture in the world. Nelson Street was one of the streets in the original plan for the New Town. It was planned by Reid and Sibbald in 1802 and actual construction of buildings started started in 1812.
