English: Nelson was an iron full-rigged ship built in 1874 built by Robert Duncan & Co Port Glasgow, Yard No 76 for Albion Shipping Co. (James Galbraith), Glasgow. Dimensions 239.3 × 36 × 20.7 ft (72.9 × 10.9 × 6.3 m) and 1323 tons. Sister ship to the same owner's Dunedin (1874), Wellington (1874), Auckland (1874), Canterbury (1874) and the Invercargill (1874). Rigged with royals and double topsails. 1906 sold to Oelckers Bros of Puerto Montt, Chile and converted to a barque. 1914 taken over by the Peruvian Government. 1926 back to Chile. 1942 wrecked.[1][2]
