Naturalis Biodiversity Center
[edit]Naturalis Biodiversity Center is the national museum of natural history of the Netherlands as well as a leading research institute for the Life Sciences. Naturalis' mission is to describe, understand and explore biodiversity for human wellbeing and the future of our planet. The basis for both research and museum is the collection. Founded in 1820, the Naturalis collection is currently one of the five largest natural history collections in the world. It comprises more than 41 million zoological, botanical, paleontological and geological specimens from all over the planet, with an emphasis on several different geographic areas, such as Southeast Asia and the Caribbean region. A substantial cross-section of digitized collection specimens has been donated to Wikimedia Commons in recent years.
Naturalis Biodiversity Center is willing to donate content in the context of the project Netherlands and the world. Donations relating to this project can be found in this category.
