English: The Moynihan Train Hall in Manhattan, New York City opened in January 2021 and was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It is an expansion of Pennsylvania Station into the city's former main post office building, the James A. Farley Building, which was designed by McKim, Mead & White in the Beaux-Arts style and was a companion to the version of Penn Station which was demolished in 1963. The Hall is named after former Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who championed the re-use of the Farley Building. The project began to be considered in the early 1990s, but construction did not begin until 2017.
