The Monroe Motor Company was co-founded by William C. Durant. The cars were built in Flint, Michigan (1914-1916), Pontiac, Michigan (1916-1918), and Indianapolis, Indiana (1918-1923). Louis Chevrolet was in charge of the racing department; his brother Gaston raced them successfully. The company was finally taken over by the Premier Motor Manufacturing Company of Indianapolis.
