The three-masted 237-ton schooner May, often docked at Bundaberg, made several trips between 1890 and 1894, carrying up to 103 recruits, regularly visiting the New Hebrides and Solomon Islands. The May was also the first Queensland vessel to recruit in the Gilbert and Ellice Islands.[1]
