English: Said to have been the first Union Steam Ship Company ship specifically designed for the Lyttelton-Wellington "Steamer Express" overnight ferry service. Built by Wm Denny & Bros, Dumbarton, Scotland. Sister ship to Wahine 1913. Sold in 1946 to a Chinese owner who renamed her Hwa Lien. Dragged her anchors, ran aground and sank in a typhoon in 1951.
