Mandriola or Tricordia (also trichordia or tricordio) is a twelve-stringed variation of the mandolin. The mandriola is used identically to the mandolin, while its Mexican cousin, the tricordia, is used in Mexican folk music.

The body can be with a bowl-back, but the back is often flat or slightly rounded. The mandriola was popular in the early 20th Century, and many were made in Germany. Some mandriolas have even 4x 4 strings (there is no special name for those). The instrument has a relative in the Mexican folk music, where it is called tricordia (or trichordia or tricordio)."
