English: Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Tippinge (died 2 August 1898) of the Grenadier Guards was wounded at the Battle of Inkerman. He also fought in the battles of Alma and Balaclava. He married artist Flora Louisa Calvert.
Note: His parents used the name Tipping, but he, his wife and his children spelt it "Tippinge". It is repeated in newspapers and in Burke's Peerage. See Burke's Landed Gentry, 13th edition, ed. A. Winton Thorpe, 1921, p. 525.
