Built in 1915–16, these twin Arts and Crafts / American Craftsman three-story apartment buildings located at 111 and 117 East Gorham Street in Madison, Wisconsin, were constructed for Lorenzo Atkinson (see the Property Records online here and here).
The buildings are clad in red brick with hipped roofs, triple-decker front porches with brick columns, brick railings, stone sills, three-story bay windows on the front facades, front doors flanked by sidelights, and hipped roof dormers.
The Atkinson Apartments are contributing structures in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
