English: Lord Ripon was a steel-hulled, four-masted barque, built 1892 by the Grangemouth Dockyard Co, Alloa for J. Herron & Co, Liverpool. She was sold in 1898 to Rhederei Visurgis AG, Bremen, and renamed Nal. In 1922 Nal sprang a leak, was abandoned off Cape Horn and sank near Wollaton Island. The crew was saved.
Dimensions: length × beam × depth = 318 × 43.2 × 24.5 ft (96.9 × 13.1 × 7.4 m). Tonnages 2,765 GRT and 2,627 NRT and she was rigged with double top and topgallant sails, royals and skysails. [1][2]
