This building was designed by architect George Corson. The exterior sculpture is by Matthew Taylor and Benjamin Payler. The general interior sculpture is by John Wormald Appleyard. The carved alabaster screen to the vestibule is by Farmer and Brindley. The carved stone medallion portraits of authors in the Tiled Hall are by Benjamin Creswick of London.
