The original Leeds General Infirmary building was opened in Infirmary Street, Leeds, England on Tuesday 1 March, 1771 (Source: "Leeds March 5", Leeds Intelligencer 5 March 1771 p3 col.2-3); it no longer exists.

The Victorian Leeds General Infirmary building in Great George Street was designed by architect George Gilbert Scott in 1863, and it was completed in 1868. George Corson and others added extensions.
