- This statue was made in plaster in Rome in 1862 by Falguière. Exposed in Paris Salon in 1863 or 1864. Made in marble for Salon of 1870 and acquired by Napoléon III. Given to national museum and send to French ambassy in Constantinople (1902), not localised today. Many copy are made in bronze, original 1,74 m and commercial reductions.
