English: The Tondern District (after 1920 Südtondern) in the Schleswig part of Schleswig-Holstein. Estblished in 1867 the district was territorially reduced to its southern part in 1920, losing its capital Tondern (Tønder) and was thus renamed (Southern Tondern) and given a new capital Niebüll. In 1970 the district merged in the new Northern Frisia district.
