English: Although the visible superstructure of the building is Roman, dating from the 2nd century, the ruins are sometimes called "the Greek baths," as the Roman were constructed partly over the Greek and extending to the west. (Other Roman thermae at the site were entirely Roman). The Greek foundations date from the 5th century BC. The Greek building took the place of a Greek swimming pool. The Roman building exhibits floor mosaics, shown covered in the photographs for protection. The room chiefly in evidence is the main hall, which has a covered mosaic.
