English: Illustrated legends of the Kitano Tenjin Shrine. Several versions of these emaki were created throughout the ages. The oldest and most famous version is the Jōkyū (or Shōkyū) version, dating from arround 1219.
Français : Le Kitano Tenjin engi emaki est le nom porté par les emakimono (rouleaux peints) narrant la vie de Sugawara no Michizane et la fondation des temples qui lui sont dédiés. Une trentaine de versions existent, mais la plu ancienne et la plus réputée demeure toutefois la version Jōkyū (ou Shōkyū), datant de 1219.
