English: The PCAD (Pacific Coast Architecture Database) entry Seattle and Walla Walla Railroad, King Street Coal Wharf #1, Waterfront, Seattle, WA describes this a having been built "1876-1877"; according to Randy Hees on PacificNG.org, it replaced a barge-and-tramway system whose last run was January 29, 1878, so it opened to use very shortly after that date. Both sites have quite a bit of further information.
Like all of the piers on Elliott Bay south of Schwabachers Wharf, it burned in the Great Seattle Fire of June 6, 1889.
