English: The monastic church at Killinaboy was built in the 11th or 12th century with later additions (Shell Guide to Ireland). Carthy assumes c. 1100 or later. The church is well-known for the sheila-na-gig above the door in the south wall. Another notable feature is the Lorraine cross on the west gable. See p. 190 in Lord Killanin and Michael V. Duignan, “The Shell Guide to Ireland”, Ebury Press, London 1967, and p. 38 in Hugh Carthy, “Burren Archaeology”, ISBN 978-1-84889-105-0.
