English: Keller Beach was named for Gus Keller, a pile driver who died on July 21, 1915, in one of the adjacent tunnels. (Sources differ as to the circumstances, and whether it was in the 1903-built railroad tunnel or the 1915-built auto tunnel.) His family kept a small wharf and tavern at this location until 1964.
