English: Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha (b. 1634/1635 – December 25, 1683) was an Ottoman military leader and grand vizier who was a central character in the empire's last attempts at expansion into central and eastern Europe.
Following the defeat of the Ottoman forces at the Battle of Vienna in 1683, he was executed in Belgrade by the order of the commander of the Janissaries. He suffered death by strangulation, and his head was delivered to Sultan Mehmed IV in a velvet bag, which was the capital punishment inflicted on high-ranking persons in the Ottoman Empire.
Türkçe: Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Paşa (1634/1635 – 25 Aralık 1683) Osmanlı padişahı Avcı Mehmet zamanında 3 Kasım 1676- 15 Aralık 1683 tarihleri arasında yedi yıl bir ay oniki gün sadrazamlık yapmış bir Osmanlı devlet adamıdır. II. Viyana Kuşatması ile özdeşlemiş olan sadrazamdır ve kuşatmanın hüsranla sonuçlanması üzerine idam edilmiştir.
