English: Julius C. B. Mitchell was a delegate to the Alabama constitutional convention of 1861 (also known as the Secession Convention) at Montgomery on the 7th day of January, 1861. During the Civil War, he served as a lieutenant colonel of the 2nd Alabama Infantry and a colonel of the 34th Alabama Infantry, C.S.A.
