The Four-Party Joint Military Commission was established under Article 16 of the Paris Peace Accords to oversee the exchange of prisoners and withdrawal of US forces. It was composed of representatives from North Vietnam, the Viet Cong, South Vietnam and the United States. Its activities would end after 60 days. The Two-Party Joint Military Commission was established under Article 17 of the accords to implement and maintain the ceasefire. It was composed of representatives from the Viet Cong and South Vietnam.
