English: The Statue of John Winthrop, located in the "Meeting House Green" at the intersection of Bulkeley Place and Hempstead Street in New London, Connecticut. The green is a remnant near the site of a congregational church, no longer extant, which served as a meeting house between the settlement's founding as Pequot Plantation and its incorporation as New London. The statue was sculpted by Bela Lyon Pratt in 1904-05. The statue has the following inscription on its plaque:
