James Pearse was a stone mason in Dublin, Ireland. He established his business in in the 1850s in "27 Great Brunswick Street". He was the father of the Irish revolutionary, Patrick Pearse, Willie, and two daughters, Margaret and Mary Brigid. Following the establishment of the Irish Free State, the street was renamed "Pearse Street" in honour of the leader of the 1916 Easter Rising. James was famous for his ecclesiastical commissions.
