Deutsch: Joseph Anton Ritter von Maffei (* 4. September 1790 in München; † 1. September 1870 ebenda) war ein Industrieller. Neben Joseph von Baader (1763–1835) und Baron Theodor Cramer-Klett (1817–1884) gilt Maffei als einer der drei wichtigen Wegbereiter der Eisenbahn in Bayern.
English: J. A. Maffei was a manufacturer of railway locomotives based in Munich, Germany, founded by Joseph Anton Ritter von Maffei (1790–1870). Perhaps its most famous product was the Bavarian S 3/6 4-6-2 locomotive of 1908. In 1931, it merged with Locomotivfabrik Krauss & Cie. to form Krass-Maffei.
