English: Islamount was a steel-hulled three-masted barque, built as Glenlee in 1896 by Anderson Rodger & Co, Port Glasgow (yard No 325), for Sterling & Co, Glasgow. 1898 sold to the Islamount Sailing Ship Co. (Robert Ferguson & Co), Dundee, and renamed Islamount. 1905 sold to Flint Castle Shipping Co, Liverpool. 1919 sold to Societa Italiana di Navigazione "Stella d'Italia", Milan, who modernised her, renamed her Clarastella and registered her at Genoa. She was also fitted with two auxiliary diesel engines. 1922 acquired by the Spanish Navy for use as a sail training ship, rebuilt at Cautieu Navale Triestino, Monfalcon (Triest) and renamed Galatea. 1946 lost almost the entire rigging in a severe storm, but managed to reach Santa Cruz de Tenerife. c 1960s Laid up at El Ferrol del Caudillo. 1992 sold at a auction to the Clyde Maritime Trust to be turned into a museum ship in Glasgow, towed 1993 from Seville to Greenock and berthed now at Yorkhill Quay, Glasgow.
Dimensions: length × beam × depth = 223.3 × 37.4 × 22.4 ft (68 × 11.3 × 6.8 m). Tonnages: 1,613 GRT, 1,488 NRT and 1,515 tons under deck.^[1][2]
