English: The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum theft was an art heist committed in the early hours of March 18th, 1990. Two unidentified robbers, disguised as police officers, subdued two watchmen. They stole 13 works of art, including works by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Manet, and Degas, with an estimated value of more than 500 million US-$. The museum offers a reward of 10 million US-$ for recovering the stolen works of art. Both the value of the loot in a single heist and the reward offered by a private institution set records. The crime is still unsolved, and the artworks are missing.
