The inside of the castle has repeatedly been occupied by lots of buildings that repeatedly have been destroyed as part of a plan that later failed. So on older pictures one can see the “courtyard” filled. In 2013 it was cleared as one intended to turn it into a museum. Excavations carried out showed all those clearings had left nothing of value (except a mosque that had escaped all clearings). So in 2019 a museum was opened.
