Ignaz Zollschan (1877–1948), an Austrian anthropologist and physician. He was born in Erlach, Lower Austria. He has graduated as a doctor then turned his interests to anthropology. He tried to combat the antisemitic racist theories in German speaking countries. He was a dedicated Jewish Zionist. As a Jewish anthropologist he was interested in Jews as a race. He believed that the Jews were a "mixed race" of people whose racial ancestry came from the Semitic and Hittite peoples of the ancient Near East. In around 1928, he was appointed as chief of the X-Ray Department of the Hadassah medical organization in Palestine. He died in London in 1948. https://www.jta.org/1928/01/08/archive/dr-i-zollschan-called-to-post-in-jerusalem
