English: Hougomont was a steel-hulled four-masted barque built in 1897 by Scott& Co, Greenock for John Hardie & Co, Glasgow. Dimensions: 292.3 × 43.2 × 24.1 ft (89 × 13.1 × 7.3 m). Tonnages: 2,427 GRT and 2,261 NRT. Rigged with royal sails over double top and topgallant sails. Dismasted in a squall 530 miles South of Cape Borda 111 days out on voyage to the Spencer Gulf in ballast in 1932 April 20.[1][2][3]
