Hotel Fiume (Rijeka) designed by city engineer Ernő Straka in 1868, it was built in neoclassical style on the site of a one-storey inn. Its current façade architecture was designed by Gusztáv Áchim in 1894, while some details of the winter garden and interior spaces were made in 1908-09. Aware of the great economic importance of the Great Plain-Fiume (Rijeka) railway being built at that time, it was named Hotel Fiume, and the city of Rijeka was notified of the naming by telegram. The frieze, which runs along the entire façade, is divided by circular ornaments above the windows and pilasters on the side wings, and alternately by plant-motif dial ornaments and rectangular fields (windows?) on the avant-corps. On the floor of the corner façade there is a wrought iron balcony. On the Andrássy Avenue line of the restaurant, on the site of today's theatre, there was a ground-floor "Szála" /probably German 'Saal' Engl: ~Hall/, which served for holding dance parties and theatrical performances until the theatre was built. In 1906, a new ice pit and other side buildings were built. In 1909, a one-storey restaurant was built towards the courtyard according to the plans of József Wagner, then the end of the café was transformed according to the plans of architect Rezső Tevan. In 1910 Endre Doctor and Gusztáv Veress painted an artistic fresco on one of the walls of the hotel restaurant, which, unfortunately, is no longer visible. Remodelled in 1933 by engineer András Bukó. Krayer paint shop Rosenbaum hardware store and Stühmer sweets shop moved in. In 1934 renamed to Csaba Hotel. In 1958 remodelled and a dancing-music venue the Csaba Espresso was opened. - On the façade facing the square: Monument sign: "Monument/Built: 1868. Designed by Ernő Straka, chief engineer of the city.//Rebuilt in 1894 in early eclectic style" AND there is an another plaque "On October 6, 1890, returning from the inauguration of the monument to the 13 martyrs in Arad, world-famous painter Mihály Munkácsy stayed in this building during his last visit to Békéscsaba. /In memory of this, this memorial plaque was placed by the Municipality of Békéscsaba City of County Rights and the Békéscsaba City Protection and Beautification Association" - In the 2020s hotel, restaurant and pub - 2 Szent István Square, Andrássy Road, Downtown, Békéscsaba, Békés County, Hungary

Az egykori Fiume Szálló épületét Sztraka Ernő városi mérnök tervezte 1868-ban, neoklasszicista stílusban épült egy földszintes vendégfogadó helyén. Jelenlegi homlokzatarchitektúrája Áchim Gusztáv tervei szerint 1894-ben, a télikert és a belső terek egyes részletei 1908-09-ben készültek. 1906-ban új jégverem és egyéb gazdasági épületek készültek. 1909-ben az udvar felé földszintes étterem készült Wagner József tervei alapján, majd a kávéház végét alakították át Tevan Rezső építész tervei szerint. 1933-ban az épületet átalakították Baukó András városi mérnök irányításával. A sarki részben a Krayer E. és Társa festéküzlete nyílt meg, az Andrássy út felőli részen pedig Rosenbaum Soma műszaki üzlete és a Stühmer Rt. édességboltja. 1934-ben keresztelték át a szállót Csaba Szállodára. A háború után Békés Megyei Vendéglátóipari Vállalat, majd a Békéscsabai Állami Gazdaság volt a tulajdonos. A sarkon McDonald's étterem volt 1997 és 2015 között - Szent István térre néző főhomlokzata tizenhét tengelyes, az Andrássy utcai homlokzat öttengelyes. A tér felőli homlokzaton: Műemlék tábla: "Műemlék/Épült:1868-ban.
