English: A horse is said to show whale eye or side eye when the iris is turned so far that (in a normally pigmented eye), the whites of the eye can be clearly seen. This can be a sign of excitement, stress, or fear. If the horse cannot turn its head to look at something, the whale eye can be simply an attempt to get a better view.
