Horatio (Orazio) Agius was born in about 1840 and died in January 1910. From the 1860s until he died, he operated various studios in Malta. Described as a prolific photographer of views of Malta and of its people and costumes - and noted also as a portrait photographer. In 1866 he 'contributed work to the London Exhibition'. (Searle)
