English: The high cross of Devenish Island was created in mid 15th-century in the flamboyant Gothic style, probably by Matthew O'Dubegan who is named in a dedication slab from 1449. The cross was discovered in 1874 and newly erected. See Claire Foley and Ronan McHugh, An Archaeological Survey of County Fermanagh, Vol. 1, Part 2, p. 733–734, and Alistair Rowan, The Buildings of Ireland: North West Ulster, p. 235.
