Henry Goldsmith (1856–1931) came from a dynasty of architects, all of Manchester, England. His father was George Hartley Goldsmith (1821–1887), architect, and his grandfather was Robert Goldsmith (1793–1866), architect. His great grandfather was Robert Goldsmith (1769–1854), architect. His son was George Hartley Goldsmith (1885–1967) architect, also of Manchester.
