English: Hawthornbank was a barque built in 1889 by Russell & Co. Ltd., Greenock, yard Nr. 212 for Andrew Weir & Co., Bank Line, Inver Transport & Trading, Inver Tankers, British-Mexican Petroleum, Compagnie Venture, Lago Shipping, Glasgow & London. 1910 she was sold to Norwegian owner Henschien J. A. - Henschien & Co., Lillesand and 1915 to Prebensen, Alex., Risør. In 1915 she was sold to Danish owner Motorselsk. Marienborg (V. Henckel). Sunk by torpedo 1917 April 4. Nine people lost their lives.
Her dimensions were 70,5 x 11 x 6,6 m and she had a tonnage 1369 GRT. IMO/Off. Nr.: 96091[1].
