Harold Styan was a physical culturalist (bodybuilder and gymnast) and drill sergeant in the British Army in World War I. He was born at 51 Nydd Vale Terrace, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. After the war he became a physical trainer, and a gym teacher in several private schools in Harrogate. He ran youth clubs, and received the OBE for services to youth. There is a youth charity named after him. He died at 63 West End Avenue, Harrogate, where he had lived for some decades.
